This is the third portrait I've done of Robert. He is a film maker who's films are uniquely Australian. Both The Bank and 3 Dollars dealt with the effects of globalisation and were a lament for the passing of an older gentler Australia. He has also passionately defended the rights of artists in the new age of Terrorism, appearing at senate committee meetings on the recently passed anti-sedition laws. A portrait of Robert as big brother presiding over a fast disappearing Australia struck me as funny. Hope you like the joke.
